"There needs to be something more, something better,  for teenagers to do during the week" this was the thought that inspired Cape Cod Church to start a teen ministry program. Detour Student Ministries was started out of a need to reach teenagers with the gospel of Christ.  With this in mind, a youth leader at Cape Cod Church in the late 90's started what is now known simply as "Detour".   Detour was launched because we here at CCC realize that teens on Cape Cod need a place to go that is different from anything else they might experience.

The name "Detour" came from the idea that teenagers need a new direction - a new path to bring them closer to God and closer to those around them. What started out as a group of less than ten high school students getting together on Thursday nights has evolved into a thriving ministry averaging over fifty teenagers a week.

What to expect-  On any given Thursday,  you can expect to find tons of teenagers from all over Cape Cod hanging out together and doing what they do best: playing games, eating food, and laughing hard. Our band is second to none, and every week they lead the worship (and rock out, of course). You can expect to feel welcomed, and to make friendships that last a lifetime. You can also expect the youth pastor, Josh Adams  to deliver a hilarious, relevant, and life-changing message (and tell some great stories in the process). But most of all, you can expect that once you come to Detour, you’ll want to keep coming back.  

Times and Schedule-  Detour meets every Thursday night from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm at Cape Cod Church. There are a lot of events throughout the year, so make sure to check out our “Upcoming Events” calender!
